TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:

Welcome to our website. By browsing and using this website you signify your agreement to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use which govern Lighthouse Spanish academy’s relationship with you as related to this website. Please do not use our website or services if you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions.

Acceptance of Service Agreement:

1. Our services:

1.1. Lighthouse Spanish Academy offers language teaching services in a pertinent location, which is both convenient for the tutor and the client. Generally, this means either the venue reserved/chosen for the private lessons and Spanish Clubs or a public place or online for online lessons or at the company premises in the case of Corporate training.

2. Our obligations and rights:

2.1. Once the client has pre-paid for any lessons, Lighthouse Spanish Academy is committed to providing the contracted service.

2.2. Lighthouse Spanish Academy reserves the right to accept, limit or decline requests for the services offered.

3. Rights of the Client/Student:

3.1. The student has the right to propose where and when the lessons might take place, although this agreement must involve a consensus with the tutor.

3.2. The student can choose the pedagogical model which best suits their interests and has total freedom to select or structure the academic content of their lessons.

3.3. The student has the right to cancel or reschedule any private or online lesson, within the conditions of clause 10.

Private and Online lessons

 

4. Private and Online lessons clarified

4.1. The time and date of the lessons should be agreed upon mutually, and these should be worked out within the following time frames: from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 9 pm.

5. Instructional Materials employed:

5.1. The tutor may bring photocopied materials for each lesson. No further study materials are required to be purchased. Although additional resources may be suggested (i.e. coursebooks), its purchase is entirely the clients’ own decision, and at their own risk.

Spanish Clubs and Workshops:

 

6.A) Spanish Clubs Oros (3-11 years old) clarified:

6.a.1. A minimum of four students is required for each Spanish Club to take place. Usually, the minimum class size is 4 students and the maximum is ten.

6.a.2. Lighthouse Spanish Academy cannot guarantee Clubs that fail to meet the minimum student number will run.

6.a.3. Lighthouse Spanish Academy reserves the right to cancel any Club for which fewer than four students have enrolled. In the event of having enrolled in a cancelled Club, students will be notified and could choose between being fully refunded or placing the next available Club.

6.a.4. In the event of a student not being able to attend a session, this cannot be made up at another time.

6.a.5. Spanish Clubs/workshops will never be held on a bank holiday. If this happens, the lesson will be offered the following week and the week of the bank holiday will be skipped.

6.B) Spanish Clubs Bastos (11-16 years old) clarified:

6.b.1. A minimum of three students is required for each Spanish Club to take place. Usually, the minimum class size is 4 students and the maximum is 6.

6.b.2. Lighthouse Spanish Academy cannot guarantee Clubs that fail to meet the minimum student number will run.

6.b.3. Lighthouse Spanish Academy reserves the right to cancel any Club for which fewer than four students have enrolled. In the event of having enrolled in a cancelled Club, students will be notified and could choose between being fully refunded or placing the next available Club.

6.b.4. In the event of a student not being able to attend a session, this cannot be made up at another time.

6.b.5. Spanish Clubs/workshops will never be held on a bank holiday. If this happens, the lesson will be offered the following week and the week of the bank holiday will be skipped.

6.C) Spanish Clubs Copas (Adult learners) clarified:

6.c.1 The Spanish Club Copas offers a membership period of one or ten weeks.

6.c.2 All pack memberships end on the last day of the term. In the event of a student not being able to attend a session, this cannot be made up at another time.

6.c.3 In the event of a student not being able to attend a session, this session will not be transferable to the following term.

Prices and payments

 

7. Prices

7.1. For current prices please refer to the website www.lighthousespanish.com

7.2. Prices may be modified without previous warning; however, this modification will never be applied to lessons already purchased.

8. General conditions and way of payment

8.1. The payment of your lessons should be carried out at least 24 hours in advance through our website, through the PayPal payment platform, or by bank transfer (Bank details will be provided in the invoice proposal).

8.2. No cash or cheque payments are allowed unless agreed in writing with Lighthouse Spanish Academy.

8.3. No lesson is confirmed, until payment has been received.

8.4. Lighthouse Spanish Academy cannot take responsibility, nor will take the necessary actions to solve any problem or mistake in the bank transfer the client may have or made.

8.5. Likewise, in the event that the customer has any problem with the payment or misuse of data by the PayPal payment platform, Lighthouse Spanish Academy will not be responsible.

8.6. Once payment has been made, and service has been acquired, Lighthouse Spanish Academy cannot give any kind of refund (total or partial)

 

Online Booking and payment process

 

9. Services procurement:

The online booking and payment process consist of the following steps:

1) Gather information: the client chooses the type of classes offered on the website www.lighthousespanish.com

2) Complete pre-registration: a contact form will be available on the website, where should be indicated the type of Spanish lesson preferred and time availability. When the client enquires about lessons, is encouraged to have a free, 30 minutes, optional assessment lesson so that both the student and the tutor know each other face to face and talk about the potential lessons.

3) Invoice Proposal: An email will be sent to the client with the necessary information about the classes, day and timing scheduled, and invoice proposal.

4) Client’s Confirmation: Once the invoice proposal has been received by the client, he or she can accept it and make the corresponding payment for the submitted proposal, according to the payment method indicated therein.

5) Email Confirmation: the client will receive an email confirming that the payment has been made, in addition to the necessary information to his or her following lessons.

Cancellation Policy

10. Rescheduling or cancelling:

10.1. Notice of cancellation or rescheduling of a scheduled lesson for any reason must be given in writing to the tutor more than 24 hours prior to the lesson. We cannot accept cancellations by phone or post.

10.2. Whether the student fails to turn up, or the lesson is rescheduled or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the usual lesson fee will be billed to the client.

10.3. In the event of a student arriving late, the tutor is in their right to choose whether they want to work beyond the scheduled end time or not.

10.4. Should the tutor not be available for a scheduled lesson, an alternative lesson time will be offered to the client.

10.5. Should the tutor not be available to attend any lesson, either an alternative lesson time will be offered, or a refund of that lesson will be given.

Holidays

11. Holidays and bank holidays explained:

11.1. Lessons shall not be offered on bank holidays unless mutual written announced is made between the client and the tutor.

11.2. Any holidays taken by the tutor will be announced in advance.

Declarations

 

12. Minors and other vulnerable individuals:

12.1. Lighthouse Spanish Academy only supplies qualified tutors with recent and satisfactory DBS checks.

12.2. In the case of students under the age of 18 years, a responsible adult (apart from the tutor) should be present at all times during which the lessons are taking place. Parents/guardians may choose to leave their child alone with the tutor during lessons. However, this is on their own free choice and at their own risk.

12.3. The tutor is not responsible for the safety, welfare, wellbeing and care of minors, or for the protection of any person’s property.

13. Photographs and filming:

13.1. Lighthouse Spanish academy frequently takes photographs of its students in order to share learning experiences and activities proposed inside or outside the pertinent venue. These images may appear in our academy’s prospectus, printed publication, website or social media. If students do not want their photographs or film used in promotional material or on social media, please, notify it to the tutor. Lighthouse Spanish Academy cannot accept responsibility for other students sharing images on social media.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

 

14. Entire Agreement:

14.1. These Terms, including any legal notices and disclaimers contained on this Website, constitute the entire agreement between Lighthouse Spanish Academy and you with regards to your use of this Website and replace all prior agreements and understandings with respect to the same.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction:

15.1. These nonexclusive governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and you submit to the nonexclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in England and Wales for the resolution of any disputes.

16. Intellectual Property Rights:

16.1. Other than content you own, which you may have chosen to include on this Website, Lighthouse Spanish Academy and/or its licensors own all rights to the intellectual property and material contained in this Website.
